You can choose a pottery piece from a range of available ceramics, paint your design, and leave the glazing and firing to us.

Pickup or local delivery available once your pottery is kiln-ready.

    Book your table from our 2-hour slots

  • White ceramic holiday-themed decorations including pumpkins, Christmas trees, and snowmen on store shelves.

    Step 2

    Come in and select your ceramic piece from our extensive collection. Pay for your chosen item along with a £5 studio charge per piece.

    Feel free to order coffee and cake to enjoy during your visit, and receive an exclusive 10% discount.

    Step 3

    We’ll provide aprons, paints, and brushes for you to enjoy a relaxing and creative space.

    Step 4

    Once your masterpiece is complete, leave it with us for glazing and firing. Your piece will be ready for collection within two weeks. If you need it sooner, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Pottery painting prices

We have a range of ceramic pieces that cost £7–£30+. We also require a non-refundable £5 studio fee per piece.

The studio fee covers paints, brushes, glazing and firing. Enjoy 10% off café food and drink while you paint.

Book your pottery painting session

Choose “Pottery Painting” below to book a two-hour session. Booking is recommended; walk-ins are welcome when space is available. Children must be supervised by an adult.

  • Booking is recommended for pottery painting at Designs Café, especially at busy times. Walk-ins are welcome when space is available. Use the booking calendar on this page to reserve your two-hour session.

  • No experience is needed. Beginners and experienced painters are welcome. We provide paints, brushes and guidance to help you decorate your chosen pottery piece.

  • The £5 studio fee per piece covers paints, brushes, glazing and firing. Choose and pay for your pottery piece separately (£7–£30). Aprons are provided, and painters receive 10% off café food and drink during their visit.

  • Pottery painting sessions last two hours. After painting, leave your piece with us for glazing and firing; it will be ready to collect within two weeks.

  • Your pottery will be ready for collection from Designs Café within two weeks, after glazing and firing. We’ll let you know when it is ready. If you need it sooner, speak to the team and we’ll do our best to help.

  • Yes. Children are welcome to paint pottery at Designs Café and must be supervised by an adult throughout the session. No previous painting experience is needed.

  • Yes. Friends, families and couples are welcome to paint together. For groups of more than 6 people, please email info@designscafe.uk or use the form below to arrange your visit.

  • Pottery pieces cost £7–£30, plus a £5 studio fee per piece. The total is £12–£35 per piece, including paints, brushes, glazing and firing. Food and drink are charged separately, with 10% off for painters during their visit.

  • UK shipping can be arranged if you cannot collect your finished pottery. Please speak to a member of the Designs Café team for details.

  • Yes. You are welcome to visit Designs Café just for speciality coffee and cake, without booking a pottery painting session. See our café page for more about visiting.

  • Yes. Designs Café is wheelchair accessible and there is a step-free route in.

  • Pottery painting is what most people come for, but it isn’t the only option. You can also try jewellery making, acrylic painting or tote bag painting, or pick a seasonal project — just ask for the Art Menu when you arrive and choose what you fancy.
